Of all the places we called, Crump’s was the only one to call us back, and we’re so glad they did! He came out and gave us an estimate promptly (considering it was peak season for them), and provided us with an extremely thorough and candid evaluation of both our chimneys. He capped, lined, and repointed the brick of our chimneys for a fair price, and provided excellent and professional service all through our entire working relationship. We also felt like we were getting honest, trustworthy advice (and not just being pressured to “make a sale”), which we really appreciated. We hope to not have chimney issues anytime in the near future, but if we do, we will definitely work with Crump’s again.
- cody mitchell Jun 2023I contacted Crumps in January of this year to set up an assessment for some concerns that I had in regards to two different fireplaces at my house. It took a few months to get him here, which was reasonable considering I called during the busy season, but when the time arrive, he showed up on the day that he said he would when we talked two months ago. His inspection was extremely thorough including getting a good eyeball on the roof, checking out the flashing, checking clearances of combustibles, he assessed the integrity of the brick and capstones. I am fairly educated in trade-based things and every question I asked, he had the perfect answer. He was also very willing to work with me as far as giving me a consultation and providing me with the correct approach to complete my own work. I never felt at any time like I was being sold on a product, which is extremely important to me because the last people I had, the heating lodge/chimney guys, was nothing but a sales pitch with absolutely no information and they also showed up super late so I wasn’t able to be there and ask many of the questions that I had wanted to ask which was why I set the appointment up. Overall Crumps has gained a lifelong. Customer and I will refer him to as many people as possible. Honest, hard-working people are hard to find nowadays, but looks like I found one!Services: Fire prevention

They weren’t all about just doing a half done job and taking your money, he even told me information to pass on for future cleanings ( if the technician is someone else or we use a different company) & mentioned other reputable companies if they are busy next year and can’t come out as quickly as we’d need. Most companies are all about promoting themselves, not crumps. Out of all the 5 companies I called and left messages with, crumps was the first to return my call & get us in that week

- Merita G. Oct 31, 2024 San Francisco, CA Called Crumps’ back in January only to have them come out to have them tell me what I was looking at. My Chimney was about to fall apart so he could not install a new Liner! After everything is completed, I now have a Direct Vent Furnace with no chance of Carbon Monoxide poisoning, a New Fireplace Insert and a Chimney that has been protected from further damaged from Weather and Rodents. Yes I could have elected to have a New Chimney installed but at a much higher cost when all was completed. The customer Service was excellent and they were very willing to work on my Time Line. - Alex B. 9/15/2025 We had Crump’s come and do a chimney inspection, before we closed on our new camp on Pushaw Lake, they found things wrong with the chimney flue. The seller didn’t believe it was true, because another Chimney company had said everything was ok. Later a state fire inspector came and confirmed what Crump’s had found 100%. Our family from out of state recommend Crump’s in Bangor to anyone purchasing a new home or camp. Crump’s saved us $4500 in hidden damages and deteriorating condition. Thank you! Oh I forgot, they refused to take payment for the inspection, he said we we taken advantage of by the Local home inspection company who didn’t find anything wrong, so he made this inspection a new home welcome gift.
